Replacement FAQ
What's the difference between a re-lay and a replacement?
A re-lay (lift and re-lay) removes the existing tile, replaces the underlayment and often the battens and flashings, then reinstalls the same tile, swapping in matches for broken pieces. A full replacement installs new roofing material.
Do I need a permit?
Building permits in the valley are issued by the local jurisdiction: City of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, or Clark County for unincorporated areas like Spring Valley, Enterprise and Paradise. Ask your contractor what applies and who pulls it.
What about my solar panels?
Panels generally have to come off for underlayment or roof replacement and go back on afterward. Ask whether the roofer coordinates that, and check whether your solar warranty requires a specific installer.
